News Flash for the Liberals – You Lost!
The left still doesn’t get why they lost this election. They talk about “Value Voters” as though something is inherently wrong with choosing a candidate based on the moral values that you share. But, while this may have had an affect, I don’t think this is truly the issue. Most of America apparently believes in the sanctity of marriage, and most, in spite of the California ballot and the Liberal media reports, are opposed to Embryonic Stem Cell research. Also despite the media portraying it as a quagmire and a failure (or maybe because of it?) most Americans still believe that the action in Iraq is indeed the major focus, as opposed to a distraction, in the war on terror. I am also simply amazed by columnist Maureen Dowd accusing President Bush of having used “fear and division” in order to win this election. I must ask Ms. Dowd a few things: Which candidate tried to convince the elderly that their Social Security checks were in jeopardy? Which candidate tried to convince the youth, and their parents, that a military draft was being secretly planned? Which candidate tried to convince minorities that his opponent was actively trying to prevent them from voting?
The “fear mongering” claimed by the left comes from President Bush reminding everybody that there are still ruthless murderers that want us all dead, and that the Democrats have a history of lying about middle class tax cuts. (I love Ann Coulter’s spin on this; “It’s all true except that last little word.”) Ms. Dowd seems to not realize the one small difference in the things that the Democrats were using to scare folks and the things that the Bush campaign used, that being that the Democrats lied.
The duplicity of the liberal elites is nothing short of astounding. They would have you believe that President Bush’s policies have made us less safe (of course the repeated claims of America being less safe made by the left is not using fear to try to garner votes), but when the President points out that there is still a threat they accuse him of “Fear Mongering”. When the government takes pre-emptive action the left screams about the “victims” (remarkably they are speaking about the possible terrorists here) and “civil rights violations”. They would crucify the President for taking the actions necessary to insure the safety of our country while complaining that he isn’t doing enough to insure the safety of out country. (Huh?) Further Ms. Dowd is still complaining that President Bush “Drummed up fake evidence to get us into Iraq” Apparently Ms. Dowd lives in her own little reality where the definition of “Drumming up fake evidence” includes listening to all of the worlds intelligence agencies (including the beloved and infallible French!) as well as the fact that he had used such weapons before. “Dowd world” is a place where America cannot possibly win because we “Create more terrorists than we kill”. This is the height of stupidity. By Ms. Dowd’s argument the only way to defeat the terrorist threat is apparently to surrender to them. Oh, now I get it. This is same strategy used by Neville Chamberlain to defeat the Nazi’s. Now it makes sense… except that IT DIDN’T WORK! Never in any history of man has appeasement stopped an aggressor. When Chamberlain’s appeasement policy caused major Nazi expansion the Brit’s finally woke up and let Churchill act, doing as he had been preaching for many months. After WWII the policy of our (Democrat) President allowed the USSR to divide and control Eastern Europe creating the political climate that was the Cold War. Gen. Macarthur prevented the Russians from occupying any part of Japan, didn’t allow the allies to interfere in the rebuilding and the result was far fewer problems with Japan after the war. We didn’t have a divided Japan, nor did we need a Tokyo airlift, nor did we need to station thousands of troops there to counter the Soviet threat. I believe that Ben Franklin said, “Those that do not learn from the past are condemned to repeat it”. This is a lesson that the liberals simply do not accept. No matter how often history provides examples of failed liberal policy; they refuse to accept that their philosophy is flawed. They will always blame the imperfect humans who are incapable of carrying out the plans, or their favorite rant “It’s the conservatives fault”.
The fact of the matter is that the liberals in this country hate this country. They delight in reporting any negative while begrudgingly, if at all, reporting success. When you are considering your own political future step back, take an objective look at the Democrats, their talking points and complaints, and you will soon realize that they are positioned to benefit only if things do not go well for America. They are quick to blame the United States for the worlds problems, but even quicker to defend those that would bring us down. They propagate lies about our history and our current situation. Then they repeat the lies until they are accepted as fact. The leftist smear machine still uses the term “McCarthyism” to describe an unjust “witch hunt” in spite of the evidence that proves Sen. McCarthy was entirely correct in his fear of communist infiltrators.
Pay attention to history; research the Liberals “Facts” before you believe them. If you study history you will find that the Party that has been soft on crime, weak on defense, has by far the poorer record of helping minorities and, has consistently supported higher taxes and more government control is the Democratic Party. When you read the news stories that are sure to come out vilifying John Ashcroft please research the truth behind Janet Reno and the Elian Gonzales affair. Then ask yourself which administration has trampled people’s rights? Even today the press is spouting nonsense about the thousand Americans that have been arrested without being charged, and not given due process. The truth is that exactly 2 Americans have been charged as enemy combatants all of the rest of these arrests were foreign nationals. I repeat FOREIGN NATIONALS not Americans. The alleged abuses of the patriot act are complete fabrications.
Another prime example of the lies of the left is the fiction that President Bush “stole the 2000 election”. The truth is that he prevented the Democrats from doing that which they accuse him of. One of the many pearls of wisdom I have garnered from Rush Limbaugh goes like this “If you want to know what underhanded, no good activities the Democrats are involved in simply listen to the accusations they make against the Republicans.”
Knowledge is power and is readily available to those willing to look. I think Americans are not the ignorant rubes that the Europeans and the Democratic leadership believe them to be. A truly informed electorate will not elect liberals. The liberals depend on the misguided ignorance of people like Ms. Dowd to keep their base misinformed and compliant. Do you realize and understand that the New York Times supports “Campaign Finance Reform” that will limit your free speech while leaving them free to publish whatever crap that they choose. Again, in the guise of protecting free speech, they are trying to limit yours. Apparently their interpretation of “The People” in the constitution is “The people in the media”. They feel that they should be free to opine on any and all political races but that your free speech rights should be limited to $2000. (The New York Times, through editorial content favorable of Kerry or anti-Bush, gave the equivalent of $1,000,000.00 in advertising to the Kerry campaign.) I hate what some of the 527’s did during this election cycle. There should be some accounting for the slander and lies expressed by those groups that used that tactic and publications such as the New York Times need to understand that freedom of speech does not equal freedom to lie. But any attempt to quell the right of any individual that wants to express his opinion, using his own funds or funds willing given by others, to refute the claims that a partisan media promotes must not be permitted. It is not only un-American it’s unconstitutional.
The one Party that consistently has stood for defending this country and its constitution is the Republican Party. The Party that would re-write history to suit its own agenda and has consistently trashed those that defend this country and broken faith with the people of this country is the Democrats. Which Party best represents your values?
